The Nintendo Switch version 1.11.1 of Animal Crossing: New Horizons is now available for play. This week's update is a relatively minor one, with the majority of its focus being on correcting a few minor issues that players may have encountered. In recent months, fans have been waiting with bated breath for some sort of significant expansion, but there hasn't been much in the way of new content to enjoy in the game itself. A major update will be released this year, according to Nintendo, but that is unlikely to make anyone feel any better in the meantime! The following are the complete patch notes provided by the publisher. Issues have been corrected. In this release, we have addressed the issues that were present in Version 1.11.0. We've resolved an issue with the DIY Recipes app in which sorting recipes by date of receipt did not display them in the correct sequence. A problem with color variations of certain items appearing in the Photopia item catalog has been resolved. Nook's Cranny had a problem with the closing time music not playing as intended. This has been resolved now! There was a problem with certain seasonal clouds not appearing as they should have. This has now been corrected. Since its release last year, Nintendo's Animal Crossing: New Horizons has proven to be a huge commercial hit. In the company's financial highlights for the second quarter, the company revealed that the game has now sold 33.89 million units, solidifying its position as the second best-selling game on the Nintendo Switch system overall. Prior to New Horizons, Animal Crossing: New Leaf was the best-selling Animal Crossing game of all time. This is a significant improvement over that game. Since 2012, only 12.93 million copies of that title have been sold worldwide.

The fact that Nintendo intends to release a significant content update for New Horizons later this year is not surprising, given the large number of people who have purchased the game. There is no doubt that the company wants to keep fans invested in the game while also encouraging more players to try it out. Perhaps the next major update will meet or exceed expectations, and fans who have been waiting for more will be satisfied. In previous Animal Crossing games, there were a number of features that were added that would be welcomed in New Horizons, the most notable of which was Brewster's return and the establishment of the Roost cafe. As the year draws to a close, it appears that we will have a better idea of what is to come in the near future if we plan ahead!
